Though i agree with you but there are movies like “JURASSIC PARK” which made live experience of dinosaurs for kids and even elders which is not possible through a book :)

Hi Stopping by from SITS.
Books do have so much more detail than the movies since they can’t possibly fit it all in in the couple or so hours of a movie. So for that purpose i agree books are in that way better than movies. But movies are better in seeing everything in action, color and with music. The special effects department do way better job than my overworked mind – in my house its hard not to have to read the same paragraph twice (or more) because of all the interruptions.

totally agree and in fact, I blogged about it yesterday. I read Lovely Bones and then saw the movie. the movie was HORRIBLE.

Yeah, I also believe that books are far than movies as the movie has limits and our imagination doesn’t… Most of the movies that’s been derived from the books doesn’t always get the best reviews as people expect more. They would want to see how they see it when they’re reading the book.

Books are definitely better than the movie…they put so much more detail and vivid imagery than a movie can cover in just 2 hours.

OMG, books RULE! A movie can never match what is in my own imagination as I read the words and that is THE reason why I will never watch the movie To Kill a Mockingbird … no movie will ever come close to how I picture all the characters in my own mind.

I agree, the books usually are better than the movie version. The only instance I can think of where I liked the movie better was with Shawshank Redemption. Maybe it’s because it was a short story. You would think Stephen King’s version would have been better than a screenplay, but it’s hard to top Morgan Freeman.

Books are sooo much better than movies… if for nothing else you can be creative in your mind with how you see each character… their environment… their lives. I think it’s so much more fulfilling.
