I Think I’m Dying

July 29th, 2009

I believe I got my first migraine today. And it was not fun. It started this morning after I made my coffee and realized our milk went bad and I had to throw the milk and the coffee out. I wasn’t happy. So I called the husband, told him to bring home milk, and as soon as I got off the phone, it hit me. The pain in my head was unfuckingbelievable.

For some reason I had this thought in my head that it was a caffeine withdrawl, which didn’t quite fit because I had just had coffee the day before. And I think I had one glass of Pepsi too (been cutting back on the soda). So, I poured some more soda, drank it, and it got worse. The hubby came home with milk, made me coffee, and it didn’t get any better.

Now, you’re probably wondering, “Why didn’t you take something?” Simple. I didn’t know we had anything. It wasn’t until about 5:00pm when the pain was insane and I was under a blanket on the couch that the hubby informed me of the existence of Excedrin above the kitchen sink. :-? I wanted to cry. I really did. So I am here, ready to take more because it’s wearing off. I should probably go to a doctor. I missed my raid because of this headache. Evil headache…

Migraines are bad, but can’t remember the last one I had! Hope you’re all better now

Migraines are the worst. When I get them I do the same thing, curl up under a blanket and try to block out as much light and noise as possible. The doctor gave me Duradin for mine but since I was getting them regularly for a time period he changed it to Ibuprofen 800 which actually works really well.

Ugh, migranes are horrible. I’m sorry you had to go through that. I hope you’re feeling better.

Ugh, I hate migraines, they really are awful. Hope you’re feeling better!

  6. Oh honey, I hope you are feeling better by now! Migraines suck! But I really enjoy your writing and the way you organize your site by keeping it clean and simplified! You are an inspiration to this fairly new blogger. Please stop by and claim your Lovely Blog Award from … well, just me. Sorry, but I really mean it if that gives it any more prestige! :)

Migraines are the worst. Find something that works and keep it on hand at all times. They tend to come on at unpredictable times.

    Migraines are really terrible!
Severe ones drive me nuts, and yeah, I do cry (a lot!) because of the intense pain. I do take meds whenever my migraine strikes, but sometimes, a 2-hour nap eases it off. I hope you’re doing better now. :)

Ouch. I am so sorry to hear about your migraine! That is one thing I have never experienced, and I hope I never have to. They run in my family — my grandfather, mother and fourteen year old brother deal with them.

I’ve heard good things about Excedrin, as well as some of the prescription strength stuff. :)

Aww :( I hope you’re feeling better now.

  11. Ouch! I’ve only ever had one migraine and I went to the doctor and got knocked out for the duration of it. Hope it doesn’t come back for another go.

  13. Steer clear of sugar and scented candles.

  14. Hope you are feeling better. I’d really talk to a doctor about it to make sure it was a migraine. My migraines come with so many other things besides head pain.

Sorry you had that so badly.

I know how you feel. I get migraines quite often. I go to a chiropractor who pops my neck and it keeps them away (the bad ones atleast) for about a month. My problem is that I can’t take anything stronger than Tylenol right now because I’m pregnant. :/
Hope you get to feeling better though!

  16. Oh, I’m so sorry! I feel for you! I get migraines too and I know all to well how much fun they are NOT! I hope you never get one again!

Hey girl, don’t take migraines lightly. My friend was diagnosed with tumor last month and he thought that it was just migraine. The doctors got the tumor out but the bad cells had spread. He got blind and then 2 weeks ago. he died . Please do see your doctor.

I totally know what you mean, migraines suck so bad. I’ve only had about 3 and then I got some of those quick dissolve packs, and they seem to really help. The worst part about it for me is the nausia and dizzyness.

    I will think about it.
