Taco puffs – a new take on tacos

I am always looking for new foods to try out ’cause after years of the same ‘ol same ‘ol, I figure it’s fair to do so. After all, they say to much of something is never good. So I bought a cookbook that had some healthy, yet yummy recipe’s in it (since everyone and their mother is bent on healthy living).

Last night, we took from the book a very spiffy recipe. Taco Puffs.

Taco Puffs recipe

Taco Puffs

We had no trouble making them. All you need is two cans of your favourite flaky biscuits, some hamburger, taco seasoning, and cheese. If you want to add extra stuff to them that’s totally ok I guess. I didn’t add anything extra myself, but I’m sure my husband was thinking we should ;)

Taco Puff

Just cook the hamburger and when it’s done add in your seasoning. Get out a cookie sheet, open one can of biscuits, and flatten them to however big you want them. Then add the hamburger and cheese on top of them. After that’s done, open the other can, flatten and place on top. Make sure to close them good. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees, and place them in for about 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. :D

Taco Puff

And there you have it. A taco puff. We made a few ’cause we thought they were awesome and we weren’t sure the boy would eat any. He surprised us though and had a whole one. :D He and I finished them off today for lunch. Hehe.

They’re super easy to make so they would make like the ultimate after school snack or perhaps an ON-THE-GO thing. And I promise you they’re the most awesome thing you will ever eat. :)
