Remember the days before we “were online”? Those were the days. When people actually got things done, when people were out the house all the time, when people weren’t obsessing over their blogs and stats and how to crush the other guy to get all the attention? Not that I obsess over that, but I just notice things. And wish I could be top dog. And shit. Yea…

But I miss those days. I was young when I first discovered the internet, as were a lot of people I’m sure. Or were you?! It doesn’t matter. We just were!!

Back to the subject!

I mostly used the crappy AOL internet I had back then to search for every Sailor Moon image I could get my hands on that wasn’t porn. I succeeded in my ventures but our printer suffered greatly I have to admit. Stupid black and white piece of shit. But I had them and that’s all that matters. Of course, being a child and all, my parents put a timer on my account so I didn’t turn into some junkie and I was kicked off after a short time. Didn’t really bother me though ’cause I had my Sailor Moon pictures and I was gonna go to my room (that I shared with my sister) and draw my own pictures using them as references ’cause I was new to the whole “let’s draw anime omgar!!” thing. I sucked back then and I suck today. I have my occasional revelation of awesomeness but that’s pretty rare.

Personally I didn’t do much in the whole department of being online. I had friends on AIM that I talked to every now and then but I mostly just hung out with the girls I knew at school since they lived so close to me. Or I played with my Barbie’s or my horses, or played in the back yard with the neighbor kids and my sister. Life was good then. I’m waiting for my son to make friends with the kids around here where we live now so he can do the same stuff I did as a kid.

but now that I live on my own and am married and have the internet in my face all the time, I have a blog, I play WoW, or I just surf blogs all day to try and get me some traffic and shit. I don’t get out much anymore (mostly due to the fact that I feel like doing nothing at all these days) when I know should ’cause I just got new batteries for my camera and I should probably use them Sometimes I wish we could go back to the “omg no internet” days and see how different our lives would be.
